Irving Oil, Washington St., Auburn – May 31, 2023

1813 Washington St S, Auburn, ME 04210, USA

ChargePoint network

2 x 62.5 kW

Under construction and close to complete. Looks like it just needs tape removing and to be turned on. Fresh power pole already has its 3 pole-mounted transformers (which is what I expect at Belfast, ME and Ellsworth, ME).
Chargers are at the highway-side edge of the lot, at the end of the gas pumps.
Dstance to the outer side of the gas pumps and the way traffic flows means people will need to parallel park to the pumps rather than perpendicular park. Hopefully it's obvious enough for people, but I doubt they'll paint the spaces. The chargers have been placed obviously far enough apart to allow parallel parking to charge.

I think you're right about the need to parallel park. While I think that's a good thing (should accommodate various charge port locations better--need to do this more often), I also fear that people used to nose-in or tail-in charging will not get it and block traffic flow, undoubtedly irritating customers.

If the store doesn't paint lines, maybe a helpful EV owner can get some spray paint and put their own marking!

Looks like this site may have gone live today.
