GDOT announced the winners for the five sites in round 1 today: Georgia DOT Continues to Advance the Deployment of Electric Vehicle Infrastructure
1. Tifton Location (PI. No. 0019828): EnviroSpark Networks, Inc. – Waffle House (706 7th Street West, Tifton, GA 31794)
2. Fort Valley Location...
Was able to charge here successfully on the way from Memphis to Birmingham; a huge timesaver versus detouring via the Shoals or even Pontotoc. ABRP thinks the chargers are 50 kW; I've put in a bug report to get that fixed. Averaged 97 kW through the session and I was still getting nearly 80 kW...
Some progress there as of today; the power cabinets were all installed on the pad and it looked like the meter and transformer were installed, but no charging posts yet. A huge area is fenced off, probably 2-3x the area that was fenced off in Warner Robins/Fort Valley during construction. With...
GDOT has posted four companies' Round 1 NEVI proposals on their NEVI website. Nothing is finalized but each proposal includes at least one of the five Round 1 locations/areas:
Love's Travel Stops only put in one proposal, for the Love's location at I-95 and US 82 near Brunswick. It is heavily...
Site is now showing as live in the Francis Energy app and the AFDC map; I'll be able to verify in about a week but if someone can verify in person sooner that'd be nice. App is showing 49¢/kWh pricing with max speed of 150 kW on CCS and 80 kW on CHAdeMO.
The AFDC link is here: Alternative Fuels...
Pretty wild that three separate charging station operators are apparently going to be in the same parking lot, especially given how many underserved areas still exist in the state.
Wish Tesla would activate the already-installed Magic Docks in a helpful location like Prattville instead of just giving us Magic Docks in the same shopping center as another CCS charging station, but I give up on understanding Tesla's Magic Dock "strategy" at this point.
Went by this location today to see if Tesla had installed Magic Docks at the Superchargers nearby and was surprised to find actual construction on this site underway instead. Looks like 6 Chargepoint Express Plus dispenser units plus lots of other backend hardware; most of the pad construction...
Looks like someone has been by on PlugShare and got photos of the units now they're installed; they're FC150K-AB-PS units with a maximum power output of 300 amps on CCS and 200 amps on CHAdeMO. Assuming the cables are also rated for 300 amps, it looks like they'll cap out at 120 kW for 400 volt...
